# Privacy — Redfleet Keyboard

**What you type stays on your device.** This describes exactly what the app does in v1.0.1.
## Typing
- The keyboard processes typing locally. Typed text, passwords, messages and codes are never
uploaded, logged, or sent to analytics.
- Layouts, word lists (12 languages), Chinese candidate dictionaries and 60+ fonts are built into
the app and work offline. The keyboard does **not** learn from, store or build a dictionary of
what you type.
- **Premium English fonts:** 100 extra fonts are not bundled. When you open or unlock one, the app
downloads it (or a small preview of it) from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com).
Only the font's name is sent; Google receives your IP address like any web request. Nothing you type
is involved, and the keyboard itself never goes online.
- Incognito (▦ Tools) additionally pauses clipboard history, recent emoji and usage counts.
- The keyboard reads a few characters before the cursor only to find the word being typed
(for suggestions and shortcuts). That text is not stored.
## Private fields
In password fields and any field that sets `IME_FLAG_NO_PERSONALIZED_LEARNING`: no suggestions,
no clipboard history recording, no shortcut expansion, no emoji-usage counting.
## Stored on the device only
Settings; themes you create and favourite; Fan Mode phrases, packs and categories; favourite
emoji; usage counters (how often a phrase/emoji was used — not where); clipboard history if
enabled (unpinned items auto-delete after 24 h; clips Android marks sensitive are never saved).
All in app-private storage, excluded from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer
(`data_extraction_rules.xml`, `allowBackup=false`). Uninstalling removes everything.
## Advertising
The companion app (not the keyboard) shows Google AdMob ads. This is the only reason the app
holds the `INTERNET` permission. AdMob may collect device identifiers such as the advertising ID
and coarse device data to serve and measure ads, per Google's policies
(https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites). Consent is requested through Google's
User Messaging Platform where required (EEA, UK, some US states) and can be changed in
Settings › Ad privacy options. The ads SDK is initialised only in the app's own screens and
never receives anything typed with the keyboard.
**Rewarded ads.** Some themes and fonts are unlocked by watching one short video ad, always after
you tap "Watch ad" (you can choose "Not now"). Unlocks are stored on this device only; if no ad can
be loaded, the item is unlocked anyway. A fresh install starts with the default free items.
## Translator and Greeting Builder
Translation runs on the device with Google ML Kit. The translation engine is downloaded once from
Google Play the first time you open the translator, and the first time a language is used its model
(about 30 MB) is downloaded from Google; the text being translated is never uploaded. Language
detection runs in Google Play services on the device. Greeting
cards and the photos you add stay on your phone until you save or share them yourself.
## Analytics (release builds)
Google Analytics for Firebase counts, in aggregate, which features are used — for example
"a language was switched", "a font was applied", "Fan Mode was opened". Every event is a fixed
name with no parameters, so nothing typed, no phrase, clipboard text or message can be attached.
Firebase also receives standard app-instance data (an app-instance ID, device model, OS and app
version, country) per https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy. Debug builds never send data.
## Not collected
No account, name, email, phone number, contacts, location, or crash reporting.
## Android's warning
Android warns that any third-party keyboard "may be able to collect all the text you type".
That notice is shown for every keyboard; Redfleet Keyboard is built not to, as described above.
## Children
Not directed at children under 13. Ads are served under AdMob's policies.
## Changes
Any future online feature (for example the AI interfaces reserved in `domain/ai/`) will be
opt-in, and this policy and the in-app Privacy screen will be updated **before** it ships.
